Health Informatics is....
"the interdisciplinary study of the design, development, adoption and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services delivery, management and planning." Proctor, R. Dr. (Editor, Health Informatics Journal, Edinburgh, United Kingdom).
The quote above by Dr. Proctor is just one of many definitions of health informatics. The phrase can mean different things to different groups. View the video below and then Google the term. Also Google "medical informatics" the term used in our textbook. Take note of the different definitions and different meanings. What do you find? Ask Google for a definition (enter "definitions" in the search field along with the two terms). Do you discover any other terms that are used besides these two? Make a short entry in your electronic journal about your findings and perhaps formulate your own "best" definition.
